Coming from Teslascope

Moving from Teslascope

Teslascope offers exports of your drives and charges. DashM8 cannot import them today, so here is what to download first and what changes when you connect DashM8.

What Teslascope lets you export

Teslascope's website offers data export in one click, and its release notes describe exporting driving and charging sessions for a date range as CSV, with tags and notes included, and say that detailed exports no longer need a premium membership. Later notes add exports for locations and reminders.

Its public pages do not show exactly where the export lives in the app, so check Teslascope's help pages for the current steps. It also has a developer API that returns drives, charges and trips as JSON.

Where your history starts in DashM8

DashM8 cannot import this app's history yet. Its history starts the moment you connect your car: the first drive and the first charge after that are the first ones it shows. Keep your export, and keep it private, because it is the record of everything before that day and it includes where you have been.

What DashM8 adds

What changes the day you connect:

  • Tesla's own Fleet Telemetry stream: the car sends its values as they change, and DashM8 never wakes it to read them.
  • Charging cost per place and time, against your own tariff, with the loss between the charger and the battery.
  • Battery health beside the state of health Tesla reports for your car.
  • A native iPhone app as well as the web, and one car free for good, with no card.
