Who runs DashM8

DashM8 is operated by Vigilainte Inc., registered in Delaware, United States. We are the controller of the data described here. Write to support@dashm8.com about anything on this page.

What your car sends us

Once you connect your Tesla account and approve DashM8 as a virtual key, your car streams its own telemetry to us. We do not wake your car to ask it questions. The categories are:

• •Location and speed — your car's position while it drives, so trips can be drawn on a map and places can be named.
• •Battery — state of charge, rated range, capacity, state of health, and pack-level readings such as brick voltage spread, module temperatures, pack current and voltage, and isolation resistance.
• •Charging — each session's energy, power, duration, charge limit, and where it happened.
• •Driving — trips, odometer, energy used and consumption.
• •Car status — doors, locks, climate, software version, Sentry events and the alerts your car raises.

What you give us

Your e-mail address and name, through our sign-in provider. Your preferences: language, units, currency, electricity tariffs, the places you name and the costs you type in. Records of what you bought, which never include your card number — the payment providers keep those, not us.

Why we hold it

To provide the service you asked for: showing your car, keeping its history, pricing your charging and sending the notifications you turn on. That is the contract between us. We do not sell your data, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not build profiles for anyone else.

Where it lives

Your vehicle data is stored in EU (Germany). Some of the companies below operate outside that region; where they do, the transfer rests on the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.

Who else handles it

These are our sub-processors. Each one does exactly the job named beside it, and nothing else with your data:

How long we keep it

Until you delete it. Your history is the product, so nothing expires on its own. You can export everything we hold, at any time, on any plan, from your account page — the export is free and always will be.

Deleting your account removes your account, your Tesla links, your preferences and your vehicle data. A minimal deletion marker is kept so an old sign-in session cannot quietly recreate a deleted account.

Your rights

You can see, export, correct and delete your data, object to how we handle it, and complain to your data protection authority. The first two you can do yourself from the account page; for anything else, write to support@dashm8.com. We answer people, not ticket numbers.

Disconnecting Tesla inside DashM8 stops the collection and erases the vehicle history. Removing DashM8's access in your Tesla account, and its virtual key in the Tesla app, finishes revoking consent on Tesla's side.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will say so in the app before it takes effect, not only here.
