Is DashM8 made by Tesla?
No. It is an independent app from Vigilainte Inc., not affiliated with Tesla, Inc. It uses Tesla's official Fleet API and Fleet Telemetry, and you sign in on Tesla's own page.
How is one-second data different?
Most apps poll — they ask the car for its state every 30 to 60 seconds. DashM8 registers as a telemetry endpoint and the car pushes its values as they change, down to one second.
Will it wake my car or drain the 12 V battery?
Reading never wakes the car, because we ask it nothing. Only a command you press — lock, climate, charge limit — reaches it.
What do I need to set it up?
A Tesla account, and a virtual key paired with each car so commands work. The key can wait.
Which cars work?
Any Tesla that supports Tesla's Fleet Telemetry. DashM8 asks your car to start streaming as soon as you connect it and shows you exactly what the car answered, so you find out on the free plan, before paying anything.
Where is my data, and can I remove it?
Hosted in Germany (Hetzner), in the European Union. No analytics vendor sees your car. Export as CSV or GPX any time; delete your account and the raw telemetry goes with it.
Can I cancel?
Any time, from your account page or your App Store subscriptions. Access runs to the end of the period you paid for, then the free tier keeps your export.
Why is there a paid plan?
Tesla bills us for every signal your car sends, and one second of data is a lot of signals. The plans cover that and the servers. No ads, no data selling.
What exactly is free?
One car, the live cockpit, seven days of trips and charging sessions, battery health with Tesla's own state of health, Sentry notifications, a cost you type in per session, and export. Forever, without a card.
How do you measure a charging loss?
By having both ends of the cable: energy delivered at the plug, and energy added at the pack as the car itself reports it. The loss is the difference, per session, rather than a percentage borrowed from an average.
Why do you show two battery health numbers?
Because they are two different measurements. Ours normalises for state of charge; Tesla publishes its own state of health for your VIN by a method we cannot audit. Averaging them would hide exactly the disagreement worth looking at.
How is phantom drain worked out?
Only from windows where the car was genuinely parked, not charging, and streaming steadily. A window with gaps is marked lower-confidence instead of being averaged in, and the confidence is shown beside the figure.
How many cars can I add?
One on the free plan. Pro and the founding lifetime licence each cover up to three cars on one account, rather than being billed per vehicle.
Is there an iPhone app?
Yes, and the web app does the same things. The iOS app adds lock-screen Live Activities while the car is charging or driving. DashM8 is in private beta, and the App Store listing is not live yet.
Does it work in Turkish, and in lira?
The whole product is in Turkish, not a translated menu bar. Electricity tariffs can be set on Türkiye's three time bands — night, day and peak — so a session is priced at the rate that was actually in force. Prices are quoted in dollars and charged in lira at checkout in Turkey.
Can I bring my history from another app?
Not yet. Import from TeslaFi, TeslaMate and Tessie is on our list and is not shipped, so today you would start a new history with us and keep the old one where it is. We would rather say that than imply otherwise.
