We count what went in and what reached the pack
Every session shows energy at the plug, energy into the battery, and the loss between them — in kWh and per cent. Then it prices that against the tariff that was actually in force.
Two ends of the same cable
A charger bills you for the energy it delivers. Your battery receives less than that: some goes to the on-board charger, some to heating or cooling the pack, some to the car staying awake. The gap is real money, it varies enormously by charger type and temperature, and almost nothing in this category measures it, because measuring it needs both numbers at once.
DashM8 has both. The stream reports charge energy added at the pack, and the session's own metering gives energy at the plug, so the loss is a subtraction rather than an assumption. We show it per session, not as a fleet average dressed up as your car.
Your tariff, not a national average
Set a rate per place and per time band — home overnight, home daytime, the office, a specific public charger. In Türkiye that means the three-band residential tariff the country actually bills on, so a session that started at 23:00 is priced at the night rate and one at 18:00 is not. Supercharger sessions can be reconciled against Tesla's own invoices.
From that you get cost per session, cost per kilometre with the losses included, and a home-versus-public split you can check line by line. Nothing is estimated from a number you did not enter.
What is free and what is not
Typing a cost in per session is free. Tariffs, places, the home and public split, and the loss expressed in money are part of Pro — they are also the two things in this product no competitor can print, so that is where the line sits.
